• 42nd Indian Oil Servo Surjit Hockey Tournament Indian Oil Mumbai beats Indian Railways Delhi 2-1 to clinch title Jalandhar, November 1 (PTI) Indian Oil Mumbai defeated Indian Railways Delhi 2-1 to clinch the 42nd Indian Oil Servo Surjit Hockey Tournament for the third consecutive time and seventh time overall. The winning team of the tournament held at the Olympian Surjit Hockey Stadium was awarded the winner's trophy along with a cash prize of Rs. 5.51 lakh (sponsored by Gakhal Brothers USA). While the runner-up team was awarded the runner-up trophy along with a cash prize of Rs. 2.50 lakh (sponsored by Ramtex Company, Ludhiana). Talwinder Singh of Indian Oil team was declared the best player of the tournament, he was given a cash prize of Rs. 1 lakh sponsored by Jalandhar Police Commissioner Dhanpreet Kaur. While Punjab Police Captain Olympian Harmanpreet Singh was declared the best scorer of the tournament, he was given a cash prize of Rs. 51 thousand. On this occasion, the chief guest Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema said that Punjab is moving forward in the field of sports.
