39th IndianOil Servo Surjit Hockey Tournament Indian Railways beat Indian Oil by 2-1, Punjab National Bank beat ASC by 5-3 Jalandhar, Nov 1 :(. ): Holder Indian Railways beat Eleven times finalist & former champion Indian Oil Mumbai by 2-1 to earn three points in Pool A of the 39th edition of the IndianOil Surjit Hockey Tournament, in progress here at local Surjit Hockey Stadium, Burlton Park. In the second match Punjab National Bank beat ASC Jalandhar by 5-3 to register second victory in the league stage. In pool-A league match, Holders Indian Railways beat star-studded IndianOil Mumbai with the help of last minute goal by 2-1.Indian Oil took lead with penalty corner conversion in the 36th minute of the play by Gurjinder Singh (1-0). In the 58th minute of play Railways equalized when Arjun Sharma scored the field goal (1-1). In the last minute Railway’s Sheshe Gowda scored the winning goal (2-1). Now in Pool A Indian Oil and Indian Railways have 6 points each, both are in the race of Semi-finals. In this pool Indian Air force having three points, they have to play their last league match against Punjab police. After that match semi -finalists from this pool will be decided. Second match of the day played in Pool B between Punjab National Bank and ASC Jalandhar. Punjab National Bank took lead in the very first minute when Satender Kumar netted the ball (1-0). ASC equalized in the 4th minute when their Ravneet Singh scored through Penalty corner (1-1). Punjab National Bank took lead in 18th minute with the field goal by Gurjinder Singh (2-1). In the 20th minute ASC equalized with the help of field goal by Gautam Kumar (2-2). In the 26th minute Bhagat Singh Dhillon and in 28th minute Deepak scored goals for Bank (4-2). In the 50th minute of play Bank’s Deepak netted the ball (5-2). In the 56th minute ASC’s David Dung Dung competed the tally (3-5). With this win Punjab National Bank bagged six points from three outings. The other team in this pool ArmyXI also have six points from three outings. The match between Punjab & Sind Bank and ASC will decided the semi-finalists of this pool. 2nd November Matches Punjab & Sind Bank v/s ASC Jalandhar – 4-00 PM Punjab Police Jalandhar v/s Indian Air Force - 5-45 PM
