• 38th Indian Oil Servo Surjit Hockey Tournament begins Punjab Police beat Rail Coach Factory Kapurthala by 1-0 Jalandhar October 23, 2021 Punjab Police beat Rail Coach Factory Kapurthala by 1-0 and earned three points in the inaugural match of the 38th Indian Oil Servo Surjit Hockey Tournament here at Katoch Astroturf Hockey Stadium this evening. Earlier AVSM VSM C Bansi Ponnappa inaugurate the tournament. In Pool B’s first match Punjab Police Jalandhar and Rail Coach Factory Kapurthala played good game. The first quarter of the match was goalless. In this quarter Punjab Police and Rail Coach Factory wasted one penalty corner each. In the second quarter’s 27th minute Olympian Ramandeep Singh scored a field goal from the pass of Simranjit Singh for Punjab Police (1-0). After that Railmen wasted two penalty corners in a row. At half time Police was leading by 1-0. After half time Rail Coach factory mounted pressure and earned three penalty corners in third quarter.
